Who are our volunteers?

  • Our volunteers come from many walks of life: schools, churches, homemakers, retirees, people contemplating a career change or people who are are between jobs.

What could you do?

  • There are many tasks in our library that are performed by volunteers. We ask each potential volunteer to fill out an application and a skill and interest survey. This process, along with a brief interview, provides us with information that will allow us to place you in an area in which you will be the most comfortable. Job examples include:

Assisting patrons with Internet access

Preparing items for library shelves

Working on craft projects for Children's and Youth Services

Creating and maintaining displays and bulleting boards

Filing, copying, and database maintenance

Shelving items and maintaining a neat and orderly collection

Mending library items

Helping to maintain the tax table during tax season

Why should you volunteer?

  • Volunteering allows you to give of yourself to help your community, expand your horizons, learn job skills, enhance your resume, and offers potential friendships. Volunteering feels good! Whatever your reason, we welcome and appreciate your contribution!

How do you sign up?

  • If you would like to be a part of our library system and have time, and talents to share, please visit the library and ask for an application.
